Stone Federation enjoyed huge success at the 2015 Natural Stone Show, the UK’s only trade show dedicated to natural stone.

Held at the ExCel, the show saw thousands of architects, designers, specifiers, developers, natural stone firms and clients come to see the best that the natural stone show has to offer.

Stone Federation were, as usual, at the hub of the Stone Federation Village, right at the heart of the show.  We were surrounded by seventeen member firms covering everything from stone suppliers and quarry operators through to design consultants and stone sealant manufacturers.

The first day was focussed around the Architects’ Day seminar program which attracted professionals from as far as the USA.  A number of Stone Federation member stands were featured on the Architect’s show walk around tour, led by esteemed architect and stone consultant, Vince Marazita.

The second day saw the Federation take charge of the seminar program with a number of sessions on some of the industry’s ‘hot topics’, including CE Marking, Selecting the Correct Stone and Stone in the Home.  Each seminar was well attended and feedback from the delegates was overwhelming positive with many coming back to the Stone Village for one on one sessions with the speakers.

The day finished with a network and nibble event on our stand, which also played host to the launch of the 2015 Natural Stone Source Book launch.  The publication was taken by hundreds of show visitors and proved to be one of the show’s most popular ‘take aways’.

The final day was run by English Heritage and focussed on the conservation side of the natural stone industry.  We saw a large number of conservation architects come to the Stone Federation village looking for advice around sourcing both the right materials and professionals; both of which they found from Stone Federation members.

The show, as always, has been a highlight event for the Federation allowing us to connect with hundreds of key natural stone, architectural and design industry professionals, as well as promoting the services and products of our members.
