Natural Stone Awards 2014
The start of December saw Stone Federation welcomed hundreds of architects, designers, members and industry bodies to the Natural Stone Awards.
Held at the historic Hotel Russell in London’s Bloomsbury, the event was the highlight of the industry calendar and, on all accounts, a resounding success.
This year we had seen an impressive number of entries across the categories which was particularly pleasing considering that most of these projects were completed during the recession.
The Awards ceremony featured the usual team of sports presenter Jim Rosenthal and voice of the National Lottery and Strictly Come Dancing, Alan Dedicoat. Ground Force’s Tommy Walsh was on hand to present the training prize and we were also delighted to welcome business guru, Lord Digby Jones as the main speaker for the event. Lord Jones gave an impassioned and entertaining speech looking at the strength of ‘brand Britain’ on the global market from a stone perspective.
We were particularly pleased to see a high number of Stone Federation members among the Award winning teams and our congratulations go to all members who enjoyed success at the ceremony.
The presentation was followed by a gala lunch and an opportunity for some fantastic networking.
The feedback we have received since the event has been overwhelmingly positive, and, by all accounts, 2014 was our best Natural Stone Awards yet. Everyone agreed that this was THE showcase event of the year for the natural stone industry.
